Mistress Vanessa Vane

I bring over six years of international professional experience and a much longer personal history in BDSM. I have studied with various shibari practitioners and masters, finding myself increasingly drawn to the intimate psychology of Yukimura-style rope.

I continue to write prose, essays and short stories, read for beauty and depth, make art; add to my pile of 100’s of polaroids, study philosophy, psychology, neurology, anatomy, meditation and Kimbaku (Shibari), I travel; I love to take stock in nature and dive into bodies of water, I train in martial arts; or I train at perfecting my roundhouse kick.

Nothing I study stays in its own discipline for very long. Philosophy finds its way into rope. Martial arts helps me kick higher and harder. Writing changes the way I listen. Art makes me build a session space with giant lego pieces infused with potential.

My Philosophy
To submit is to deconstruct & expand

My sessions are an opportunity to loosen the embedded structures that contain us and enter a liminal space of play and creativity.

Play is where I feel most alive. It invites us into a liminal space where ordinary structures loosen and creation becomes possible. For a while we are no longer governed by habit, expectation, or certainty. We become free to imagine, experiment, and discover other ways forms of intimacy. I am fascinated by the moment fixed identities begin to loosen. The composed self softens, forgotten parts awaken, and vulnerability appears within a carefully held structure. These moments cannot be forced; they emerge through trust, attention, and play.

Rope arrived later in my career and quickly became a lifelong commitment to exploration. Bringing shibari into an already established practice of play has allowed me to use it as an extension of myself and has become another language through which I compose intimacy, attention, surrender, and transformation.

Some conversations are better held, quiet, bound and tight.
